  27. This is true.  From what I hear, there will be some changes in the NewTek 
  28. Systems Group deal...it remains to be seen what those changes will bring.

  30. LightWave for Alpha will most likely double in price but will include 
  31. some extra software that is not a part of the other platform releases.

  33. My HOPE is that this re-tooling of the NewTek Systems Group will bring 
  34. forth a set standard that Alpha workstations will have to meet in order 
  35. to run the new hardware/software that is being developed...the machines 
  36. produced by Deskstation Technologies Inc (DTI) already (or soon will) 
  37. meet these standards and owners of DTI hardware would probably see other 
  38. benefits...this is all conjecture on my part though.

  40. I was fairly certain that the original plans for the NewTek Systems Group 
  41. would not affect non-Raptor owners, but from what I've heard over the 
  42. last few days, this was NOT the case.  I'm glad that NewTek and DTI are 
  43. reconsidering their plans...it would benefit no-one if LightWave for 
  44. Alpha were ONLY made available for the Raptor.  I say this as a very 
  45. happy Raptor owner.  =)
